All ten chains and matching parts delivered as one batch

Background

In May 2024, a leading European steel producer signed a supply contract with Baytech for ten conveyor chains and the matching metal parts and tools. In steel production, conveyor systems carry material continuously between process stages, and the chains operate under heavy, sustained loads. In this environment, chain performance comes down to three things: wear resistance, service life and smooth running. This batch of chains was supplied for the customer's material-conveying operations.

The Challenge

The project had to meet two requirements at once. Scope: ten conveyor chains plus the matching metal parts and tools — several product lines that had to be prepared and delivered as a single complete batch. Schedule: the delivery date was fixed by contract, leaving approximately four and a half months from signing to handover. Procurement, quality control and logistics all had to line up with the contract milestones.

What We Did

Baytech planned the project backwards from the contract delivery date. The chains and the matching parts and tools were prepared in parallel, and everything was timed to the contract milestones. All ten chains and the matching parts and tools were delivered together, as scheduled.

Results

  • Delivered in full: ten conveyor chains and the matching metal parts and tools were delivered as a complete batch in September 2024.
  • Timeline: approximately four and a half months from contract signing (May 2024) to completed delivery, with delivery made within the contractually agreed delivery period.
  • Customer feedback: the customer gave positive feedback on the chains' wear performance, service life and smooth running. These are the customer's own assessments, not measurements taken by Baytech. This was a product supply only, so the project has no before-and-after performance data.

Customer Value

When a batch of heavy-duty conveyor chains affects whether a production line runs to plan, buyers look for evidence rather than promises. This project offers two points a buyer can verify: all ten chains and the matching parts arrived together, to the contract schedule, within about four and a half months; and once in service, the chains received positive feedback from the user on wear, service life and smooth running. If you are reviewing suppliers for an upcoming heavy-duty conveying project, you may find this case a useful reference. We are glad to discuss your timeline and operating conditions.
